Inevitable Changes
Trees grow leaves then shed them after they change colors. They grow taller and wider every year. Barns age with time, old wood patched with new tin roofs rusting in the weather. Fences change and move. Nothing stays the same. Time is the great power we never see but always feel. Age is no disgrace only a measure of the life we live and then only the length of it never the depth or width. Full lives are sometimes short and empty lives often longer than dirt. I suppose I fall somewhere in between the past and the inevitable changes the future holds. |
