Deep Cut
Something just cut me deep It just severed my spirit I thought I had the stone in my hand A long glittering stone Brilliant in the raw I imagined the refined sparkle I took this precious gem into my home Into my heart As I began to see the facets My soul in awe I held it, Caressed it, polished it Shaped it's slender length into a sword Several times it's edges scratched me I continued stroking it tenderly The edges keen and smooth The glow was honed With passionate work The gleam returned One day, when at it's shiniest There formed a crystalline point I went to hold my dear saber My chest bared my heart exposed To feel it's smooth caress And as I did the crystal sword turned And pierced my heart © PViel 2001 |
