Perception
The whale had come ashore to die. It was his
wish to leave this world feeling the weight of his being. Everyone
gathered around to push him back to the sea. They could not move him and
he could not pass in peace. Ultimately their gift to him was agony and
his gift to them was humility. No one has the right to decide the
actions of anyone else. Does anyone really believe they do anything for
anyone else. Perception is not reality and what seems to be the most
unselfish acts are ultimately the height of selfishness. I don't choose
to play that game anymore. We all should learn to bear the burden of our
own reality free of intrusion by any other person's perception. So don't
plan on saving me from myself and I won't rescue you these are givens we
both understand. Dance till dawn and fill your life as you fill mine.
Deep down we both know who we are and we may never pass this way again
so we dance in words and the spaces between them. The smoke behind the
burned tree is really a geysers steam bubbling up from just beneath the
surface. The tree will live despite our perception it is already dead.
What we feel will live despite the lack of what is said. |
